The Most Revd Dr Richard Clarke, Bishop of Meath and Kildare, has been elected Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland by the House of Bishops of the Church of Ireland, following the retirement of Archbishop Alan Harper on 30 September.
The new Archbishop of Armagh faces extensive and diverse challenges.
A press conference has been announced for 4.00 pm today at which the newly-elected Archbishop of Armagh is expected to be present. The conference is being arranged by the C of I Press Office at Belfast Cathedral.
