Church House staff raises funds for cancer care
Colleagues and supporters at Church House Belfast raised £260 for the Marie Curie Hospice at a goodie–laden coffee morning last week. The event was just one of many that have been organised by staff members Sylvia Lockhart and Margaret Yarr who are part of a team of six family and friends trekking in Cambodia in October.

‘Team Esther’ is aiming to raise £19,500 for the Marie Curie Hospice, Belfast. The Hospice provides care and quality of life for people with cancer and other illnesses – more than 750 patients each year at a cost of £4 million – and so they need our support.

Team Esther is so named in tribute to Sylvia’s late mother Esther White, who had suffered from cancer. Sylvia, Margaret and the other members of Team Esther will be in Cambodia from October 5–12 this year.

What is Art? How can we incorporate Faith into Art?

The Contemporary Christianity Faith and Arts’ Group invite you to their first group exhibition on Monday 25th June.

An eclectic exhibition of Christian Artists featuring painting, photography, print, sculpture, ceramics, poetry and textiles.

Exhibition opens 7.30-9.30pm at the Contemporary Christianity Offices (3rd floor, 21 Ormeau Avenue, Belfast).

There will be an artist show and tell commencing at 8pm.

Award–winning documentary
Ratanak UK will be screening, ‘The Pink Room’, an award–winning 45 minute documentary about the child sex trafficking trade in Cambodia, on 29th June at 7:30pm, at Willowfield Parish Church, Belfast.

The Pink Room follows the journey of Mien, and other young girls in the turbulent world of sex slavery. Mien grew up in Svay Pak, just eleven kilometers outside the capitol city of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, a vast and vicious epicenter of child sex slavery. At a young age she enters life in a brothel, and her virginity is sold at a high price.

Willowfield will seat over 300 so please invite as many people or groups as you wish – this documentary is not to be missed. Refreshments will be provided and a question and answer session will be held after the screening.

Willowfield is located at: 149 My Lady’s Road, Belfast, Down BT6 8FE.
