Parish Auction
Galloon Parish Church is holding an Auction in The Church Hall, High Street, Newtownbutler, on Saturday 1st September 2012 at 12.00 noon.

There is a wide variety of items for sale including good quality furniture, tables, chairs, corner cabinets, beds, bed linen, garden seats, finger oil lamp, crockery and delph, household items, pictures, mirrors, bric–a–brac, books, toys and boxed lots ideal for stall holders car boot sales etc. Approximately 500 lots.

Viewing on morning of auction, admission is free, everyone is welcome and refreshments are available. This is an auction not to be missed. The Parish runs two auctions a year, usually on the Saturday after Easter and the first Saturday in September. They have been running for over ten years and have earned a reputation for being well organized and having good clean items for sale at fair prices.

Commissioning of Diocesan and Parish Readers
The commissioning of Dublin & Glendalough Diocesan and Parish Readers will take place on Sunday September 2 in Christ Church Cathedral at 3.30 pm.

Faith healer saddened after being refused UK visa
A controversial faith healer has said he feels deeply saddened at decision of the Home Office to bar him from entering the UK.

Todd Bentley had been due to preach at the Christian Centre on the Tandragee Road in Portadown next month as part of a UK tour.

Mr Bentley achieved notoriety by allegedly using violent methods to heal worshippers. Videos online show him kicking a man with polio repeatedly while asking if he feels cured.

Papal nuncio presents vision for future of Irish Catholicism
