MU General Meeting 2013
Mothers’ Union’s General Meeting in 2013 will take place on Wednesday 12th June in the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
The annual event will this year be held at The Forum in Bath city centre, which is home to Bath City Church.
All tickets for the event have now sold out. However, MU would like to encourage all those who have bought tickets they no longer require to return them so that they can be put on resale. In order to receive a refund they ask that all tickets are returned by 11th May. These will then be put on sale as and when they are returned.
Last year over one hundred tickets were returned prior to the event due to overbooking, so if you do not have a ticket already you may still be able to get one at a later date.
The timetable for the event will be as follows –
Tuesday 11th June
Service at The Forum 7.30pm (non-ticketed)
Wednesday 12th June
Mothers’ Union said Eucharist at Bath Abbey 9.00am
General Meeting at The Forum 10.30-15.30 (Ticketed)
Please note the Services will not be ticketed, however please email Bath & Wells Diocese indicating how many people you intend to bring so that they can guage numbers. Please email mu@bathwells.anglican.org stating either ‘Service at The Forum 11th June’ or ‘Bath Abbey Eucharist 12th June’ accordingly in the title box.
If you require the information pack provided by Bath and Wells Diocese or have any further questions please contact the Fundraising & Communications Unit on 020 7222 5533 or marketing@themothersunion.org.
Ecumenical Celebration of St Patrick in St Patrick”s Cathedral
Dublin Council of Churches is organising an ecumenical celebration of Ireland’s patron saint in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, on St Patrick’s Day.
St Patrick In His Own Words will commemorate, in simplicity and beauty, the gift of Christianity for Ireland and St Patrick’s role in this.
Through word, song and traditional Irish music, the event aims to bring alive the legacy of St Patrick. The congregation will hear St Patrick’s own words, Bible texts he loved and haunting music and songs he has inspired.
Traditional and modern music composed for St Patrick’s words will be performed under the directorship of renowned harpist Claire O’Donnell (young musician of the year 2011).
Dublin church leaders will attend the service which gets underway at 6.00 pm on Sunday March 17 in St Patrick’s Cathedral.
Dublin Council of Churches is made up of 11 different Christian church denominations in the greater Dublin area from the Protestant, Roman Catholic and Orthodox traditions. Its main aim is to facilitate and explore ways of expressing their common faith together.
