Saint George’s Singers is a large Belfast-based choir specialising in the great choral works of the Baroque and Classical periods. It has consistently produced high quality performances for over twenty years and is a major contributor to the cultural infrastructure of the city.
The choir web site states:
The choir was formed here and whilst it has now grown to be an outward looking organisation attracting a very diverse cross-community membership, St. George’s Church remains our weekly rehearsal venue and the traditional ‘home’ of our annual Christmas Concert.
We seek to work creatively with other groups and the coming season will be marked by a number of collaborative ventures. We will be broadening our appeal by co-operating with various professional and amateur groups on both sides of the Irish border. Over the years we have performed in many church venues regardless of denomination both in Belfast and surrounding towns and also in the Irish Republic and we will continue to take every opportunity to widen our scope and foster partnerships.
