Harlandic on song tonight

Today, December 19, the Harlandic Male Voice Choir will be singing in Castle Court Shopping Centre, Belfast – 6.30pm-8.00pm, fundraising for Meningitis Research.

Their Conductor is John Lyttle who is also Organist and Choirmaster of Willowfield Parish.

Next year being the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, it is only to be expected that this choir which was originally formed by workers in the shipyard which built the doomed vssel (Harland & Wolff) would be busy. Their calendar includes:

Thursday 23 February 2012  Ulster Transport Museum, Cultra. – 6.30pm  William Blair Lecture & Exhibition. (Choir will perform after Lecture.)in Ulster Transport Museum

Friday 24th February 2012  Ulster Hall, Belfast, Gala Concert of Male Voice Choirs – 7.45pm  Gala Concert of Male Voice Choirs in Ulster Hall (Age NI)

Monday 7 May 2012  Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, Titanic Day. – All day  Singing at the Titanic Event in Ulster Folk & Transport Museumn on May Day Bank Holiday.

Friday 13th April 2012  Comber Church of Ireland, Titanic Concert – TBA  Concert to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Titanic in Comber C. of I.

The choir performs a wide selection of both sacred and secular music at venues throughout Ireland and have, through tours, appeared in Europe and America.

Through their performances at events,they have been able to help with fund raising and charitable giving.

New members are always welcome.

The Choir  practice on Thursday nights between 19:45 and 22:00 at Saint Georges Church Hall, High Street, Belfast.
