Archbishop of Armagh recognises Irish service in Peru

Archbishop Eamon Martin of Armagh has been visiting Peru and meeting with Irish church clergy and religious who have served in the country

The Archbishop said he had been delighted to meet Sisters of Loreto (photo above) from Ireland who are working to empower the young people of Lima through education and personal faith inspired by the charism of Mary Ward.

Archbishop Eamon said it was an honour to be present in Lima as Fr Gene Kirke from Kilkerley Co Louth was presented with the Cardinal Cushing medal for six decades of generous service to missionary work in Perú . “Fr Gene says hello and wishes me to thank all his friends in Armagh and Louth” said the Archbishop.
