Resignation
C of I Press release – For personal reasons, Mr Peter Hamill has resigned from the post of Director of Continuing Ministerial Education (CME) and Lay Training at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute (CITI). The Director and Governing Council of CITI take this opportunity to wish Peter well for the future. The role will be re–advertised shortly. Pending a new appointment, the CME and lay training strand of the Institute’s new programme will continue to be developed in and by CITI.

Service For Those Who Have Cancer
C of I Press release – Interdenominational Divine Healing Ministries are holding a special service for those who have cancer on Monday 26th March 2012, at 8pm in St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast. The service leader and speaker will be Brother David Jardine, Director of this ministry. Worship will be led by Knockbreda Parish Worship Group. There will be an opportunity to receive personal prayer and anointing with oil at this service.

This week
Irish Times C of I notes – Tomorrow (Sunday) morning a service of Holy Communion will be broadcast live from the RTE studios, Donnybrook with parishioners of Kilternan parish church led by the rector, Canon David Moynan, and the Junior and Senior Choirs of the parish. The service will include a short discussion with some of the candidates confirmed last Sunday about their Christian faith. In the Chapel of Trinity College, Dublin, the speaker in the series of addresses on the Psalms at the Sung Eucharist will be the former Supreme Court Judge, Mrs Catherine McGuinness, while in Knocknagoney parish church the Bishop of Down & Dromore will institute Canon David Brown to the incumbency,
An 3.30pm in St Stephen’s church, Dublin, there will be a Tsunami Anniversary Concert with Mari Moriya (soprano), Takeshi Moriuchi (piano) and Daichi Fujike (counter–tenor) in support of Aid Japan for Children, and later, at 7.30pm in St Patrick’s Cathedral, the first anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami will be marked with a free recital of Handel’s Messiah by the all female Toyo Eiwa Jogakuin Choir.
The lunchtime recital in St Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick, on Wednesday will be given by Yonit Kosovske (piano) and Balint Varay (violin) who will play Bach’s Violin and Obbligato Sonatas. In the evening, at 8pm in St Ann’s church, Portmarnock, the Malahide area Lenten talk will be given by Greg Fromholz, from 3Rock Youth, who will speak about reaching out to young people.
A series of talks for St Patrick’s tide will begin in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, on Wednesday evening at 8pm when Albert Fenton will speak about the Knights of St Patrick, and will continue on Thursday evening when Canon Charles Mullen will speak on ‘Religion and St Patrick’.
In Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, on Thursday evening at 7pm Cumann Gaelach na hEaglaise will host an ‘Irish Language Taster’ in the Chapter Room over a glass of wine. This is intended for beginners or those who have forgotten their Irish. This event is free, all are welcome and those who are interested should telephone 087 6232841. The ‘Taster’ will be preceded by bi–lingual Evensong at 6pm.
On Friday evening the Bishop of Clogher will institute the Revd Alan Irwin as Rector of Lack parish while in Killeshandra parish church the Bishop of Kilmore will institute the Revd Alison Calvin to the incumbency of the Kileshandra group of parishes.
