Olympic athletes get Bibles
Athletes taking part in the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will have access to free copies of the Bible and Scripture portions, thanks to an initiative by Bible Society.
Available as a welcome gift in the Olympic Village Religious Services Centre will be around 3,000 copies of commemorative English-language Scriptures. There will also be nearly 1,000 copies of Bibles and New Testaments available in a variety of other languages thanks to Bible Societies around the globe.

In order to meet the anticipated demand, Bible Society has launched an appeal as part of its ‘Bible: Body & Soul’ initiative for 2012. To give in support of this initiative go to Olympic Bibles Appeal.

Look behind behaviour schools told
Belfast Telegraph – Schools must do more to tackle the causes of bad behaviour, as unruly children may have special needs or serious problems at home, a leading charity has warned.
Barnardo’s said some pupils may be “acting out” rather than simply “acting up” in class, and that schools should not simply deal with the symptoms of naughty behaviour.
Official figures published last week revealed that, in England, pupils with a statement of special educational needs (SEN) are around nine times more likely to be expelled from school than their peers.
In 2010/11, SEN children with a statement were permanently excluded on 430 occasions, and accounted for 8% of all expulsions, revealed the Department for Education statistics.
