David Armstrong, Senior Lecturer in Education, Stranmillis University College will speak on “Schools and faith” in the next lunchtime lecture at St Bartholomew’s Church, Belfast.
The lecture is set against the background of far-reaching changes in school curricula which have taken place in recent years, the subject of Religious Education not being exempt. Some concern has been expressed that the particular status of the Christian faith has been eroded, with comparative religion coming to the fore in its place.
David Armstrong is a Senior Lecturer in Education, Stranmillis University College. He has been on the staff of Stranmillis University College since 2002. His previous positions include Head of Religious Studies for Controlled Grammar Schools in Northern Ireland and Head of Religious Studies of an International School in South India.
