Church hit by £10k lead theft
News Letter – Metal thieves who stripped the roof of a church in Bangor over the Easter weekend have been blasted as being “no better than animals”.
The gang stole more than £10,000 worth of lead from the roof of the Church of the Nazarene building in the Rathgill Glen area of the town.
This is the latest attack in a spiralling trend of metal thefts that have trebled in Northern Ireland during the last four years.
