Belfast lecture – “Presbyterian, Gay and Scottish” is the title of a lecture to be given by Rev Blair Robertson (Affirmation Scotland) in Central Hall, First (Non-Subscribing) Presbyterian Church, Rosemary St, Belfast on Saturday 27th Oct at 3.45pm.
The Revd Blair Robertson is a clergyman in the Church of Scotland. He will reflect on the current debate on sexuality in his Church, and look ahead, with hope, to a more inclusive church. Speaking from his personal experience as a gay Christian he will give perspectives on how the Bible and theology is used in this often difficult debate in the Christian churches in Britain and Ireland.
Recording Songs of Praise – tonight in St Macartin’s Cathedral, Enniskillen at 7.00pm. Also, on 17th & 18th October at 6.30pm. The transmission dates will be Sunday 11th November and Sunday 26th May 2013.
Clogher MU Autumn Council – will be held on 25th October in Maguiresbridge Parish. The Council will be preceded by Holy Communion at 7.30pm. Speakers: Revd Stanley and Sheila Johnston from Donegal.

Music and Song at Monkstown – Monkstown Parish Church, Dublin, will host a Music and Song Extravaganza on Friday November 9 at 7.30 pm. A variety of musicians will be featured including The Brook Singers, The Quintessentially Brass Quintet, Janet de Vigne and Jane Lawrence. Admission is €15 by ticket only. Budget to rule on fee-paying schools
Examiner – The continued €95m-a- year government funding of fee-paying schools will not be decided until the budget, according to Education Minister Ruairí Quinn.
But his department strongly hinted that the entire scrapping of the investment is unlikely because of the increased cost that would result from schools being forced to close.
