Appointments
The Revd Joanne Megarrell has been appointed rector of the parish of Moira, following the vacancy left by Archdeacon Roderic West becoming rector of Seapatrick. Joanne is no stranger to the parish having served there as curate assistant since her ordination as deacon in 2003.
The Revd Stanley Gamble, currently curate assistant of the Parish of Knockbreda in the Diocese of Down, has been appointed incumbent of the parish of Killinchy Union in the Diocese of Down.
Institution in St Matthew’s, Belfast
The Rev Tracey McRoberts was instituted as rector of St Matthew’s Parish, Shankill, Belfast, on Tuesday. Tracey is a native of Donaghadee, Co Down. She is a past pupil of Glenlola Collegiate, and was an active member of Donaghadee Parish, where she still has strong links.
Mum to Philip, 17, Tracey worked at Spence Bryson Carpets before studying for a BTh at Union Theological College, Belfast. She later did a PCGE.
Tracey was appointed Church Co–ordinator at Orangefield Presbyterian where she was very involved in the new church building.
Before she was selected for training for Ordination in the Church of Ireland, Tracey moved to Ballymacarrett Group of Churches in East Belfast, where she was ministry assistant.
During her two years training in Dublin, she completed a Masters Degree in Leadership and Pastoral Care at All Hallows College and following her ordination in 2009 she went to St Thomas’s Parish, Belfast, as curate assistant.
National Day of Commemoration
The Archbishop of Dublin, the Most Revd Dr Michael Jackson, will participate in the National Day of Commemoration on Sunday July 8 at 11.00 am at Collins Barracks.
Guest Choir at St Ann’s, Dawson Street
St Ann’s Church, Dawson Street, Dublin will welcome a guest Choir tomorrow – the Kellogg Community College Choir from Battle Creek, Michigan, USA. Directed by Dr Gerald Blanchard the choir will give a short recital from 10.50 am to 11.10 am on Sunday July 8 before joining St Ann’s Church Choir for Sunday worship at 11.15 am.
