On Friday afternoon, 27th March a group of interested clergy gathered on ZOOM with their Bishop, Dr Paul Colton, to chat about some of the opportunities and challenges that arise when broadcasting the liturgy. Bishop Colton dug deep into the recesses of his memory from the training sessions he used to host in the 1990s when he was Coordinator of Religious Programmes involving the Protestant Churches at RTE.

Youth Ministry: A response to Covid–19

The Church of Ireland Youth Department has produced a resource to support youth leaders across the parishes in Ireland during this unique time.

It will be significant as leaders continue to support young people in their discipleship over the coming weeks and months. This document is just a start to share suggestions for how to engage with young people. Many organisations and groups are developing creative ways to connect .

The document will be updated each week and CIYD would like to include new ideas as folk discover together how to support young people across Ireland.

The resource is available at this link. Please remember to check in regularly for updates: [ www.facebook.com/CoIYD ]

Church Review Available Online

The April Edition of The Church Review, the magazine of Dublin and Glendalough is available online: As a result of the coronavirus emergency the April 2020 edition of The Church Review will not be printed at this stage. Traditionally the diocesan magazine is distributed through parish representatives.

 Prayer requests

Pray for the people developing better tests to diagnose the virus, vaccines to prevent it, and protocols and communication to eliminate the disease’s spread. Pray for wisdom, insight and quick success in their work.

Pray for parents trying to navigate home schooling and keeping their children occupied and amused at home. That the Lord will give them the patience, wisdom and knowledge they need each day.

Tearfund NI on the web on Sunday

This Sunday, Tearfund NI Director Ruth Koch will be speaking (virtually!) at First Presbyterian Church Bangor’s 11AM service. If you don’t belong to another church, tune in via the church’s Facebook page. If you will be ‘attending’ elsewhere, why not catch up on the service later?
