RIAM Orchestras in aid of Focus Ireland

Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, on Saturday, 7 March 2020, 8.30pm.-
A delightful potpourri of music in aid of Focus Ireland performed by the RIAM Symphony and Intermediate Orchestras, pianist Dida Condria, and conductor James Cavanagh in the magnificent setting of Christ Church Cathedral. In addition to musical masterpieces by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Brahms, audiences can look forward to Haydn’s rousing Symphony No 99.

A fantastic opportunity for audiences to hear the vibrant RIAMSO in concert ahead of its visit to Stockholm in April 2020 supported by Culture Ireland, the Embassy of Ireland in Sweden and the Embassy of Sweden in Ireland.

New Irish Youth Concert 2020

On Sunday 23rd February 2020, Whitla Hall, Methodist College, Belfast, at 3pm – New Irish Youth Choir & Youth Orchestra and now also featuring members from the New Irish Chamber Choir

A worship celebration featuring the work which New Irish Youth Orchestra and Choir have been doing this year. New rector for Kilkeel

The Revd Alison Calvin was instituted as rector of Kilkeel Parish on Thursday 13 February.

Alison is the first rector to be instituted by Bishop David McClay of Down & Dromore, who served his first incumbency in Kilkeel from 1990–2001.

Both received a warm welcome as did Bishop Ken Clarke who preached at the service. Alison comes to Down and Dromore from the Killeshandra Group of Parishes in Co. Cavan where she ministered for over ten years.

Institution in Glenavy

The Institution of the Rev Linda Cronin as vicar of Glenavy Parish will take place in St Aidan’s Parish Church, Glenavy, at 3pm on Sunday February 16.

St Patrick’s Day Programme at Saul and Downpatrick

9.15 am – Holy Communion at Saul with preacher, Ven Roderic West, Archdeacon of Dromore

10.15 am – Pilgrimage from Saul to Downpatrick

11.45 am – Festival Service in Down Cathedral with preacher, Rt Revd Andrew Forster, Bishop of Derry & Raphoe. Wreath laying ceremony at St Patrick’s Grave

1.15 pm – Irish stew lunch for all in the marquee

Transport to Saul – From 8:00 am private buses will leave from the Mall for the communion service and pilgrimage. The last bus for the communion service leaves at 8.45 am. The last bus for the pilgrimage leaves at 9.45 am. The last bus from Saul to the Cathedral leaves at 10.40 am
