Airport support for Bangor Foodbank

Massive response to Rev Jim Rea’s book

The Rev Jim Rea – a former Superintendent of East Belfast Mission – was overwhelmed with the response to the Launch of his book ‘Stories from the Streets’ at Skainos this week. The audience was representative of the entire community and tributes were paid to Jim’s commitment to service in many ways not only in East Belfast but in other parts on Northern Ireland. Jim signed copies for guests. The current Superintendent of EBM Rev Brian Anderson was present supporting his friend and colleague.

Saturday Night Live restarts in Down & Dromore

The new season of Saturday Night Live got off to a great start in Holy Trinity Ballylesson on 5 October. There was a good turnout of youth groups and leaders for a night of Bible teaching, worship, prayer, food, and fun and games.

Thanks to the hosts Charlotte Geddis and Jack Wilson and to Courtney Devitt who spoke on this year’s theme of ‘Being An Apprentice’. Courtney is the Youth and Children’s worker in Moneyreagh Community Church.

The group of young SNL musicians has got so big that there are now have two SNL Bands, both of which played on Saturday.
The next SNL will be the Christmas Special on 7 December 2019 in Moira Parish. The organisers want to see an even bigger crowd.

Recalling William Molyneux 1656 – 1698 at St Audoen’s

The parishioners at St Audeon’s are delighted the church is to be the venue for this very interesting event taking place there in November. This special day will focus on the life and work of William Molyneux 1656 – 1698, writer on science, politics and natural philosophy. This day of multidisciplinary talks will also include a tour of St Audoen’s Church, final resting place of Molyneux. Mothers’ Union graduation in Juba

Members of the MothersUnion in the Diocese of Juba recently undertook training in tailoring and handicraft, sponsored by the Anglican Communion Fund. At the end of September the MU held a graduation ceremony for them.

Increase in Irish Government’s overseas development budget

Trócaire has welcomed the increase in the Government’s overseas development budget and reiterated its call for a roadmap outlining how Ireland will meet its international development commitments.
