Belfast Be A Chorister For A Day success

Children (and parents) came along to Belfast Cathedral on Saturday for the first ‘Be A Chorister For A Day’ event. It was a fantastic day and those taking part enjoyed themselves. Seagoe Youth group strike silver!

Congratulations to the twenty members of Seagoe Youth Group who received their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards last week. The Mayor of Armagh City Banbridge and Craigavon Council, Cllr Mealla Campbell, made the presentations at Seagoe Parish Centre on 8 October. It’s the largest number of young people to complete the award at any one time in the life of the group and ten of the recipients are also members of Seagoe Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade. Congratulations also to Edwina and Keith Livingstone who have led the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme at Seagoe for the past 20 years. There should be an award for that!

Fund opens for vandalised Cairncastle church

Significant damage was caused to St Patrick’s Church, Cairncastle, Diocese of Connor, when lead thieves targeted the historic building for the second time in five months. This attack, overnight on October 10, was more serious than the attack last May, and has left the church, built in 1815, with a hefty bill for both repair and for further security measures. The Parish has set up a fundraising page with a £5,000 target. All donations will go to the St Patrick’s Church Restoration Fund.
