Reports that a charity foundation named after the late Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha is donating £800,000 towards the restoration of the city’s cathedral.

Report that pews removed from St Matthew’s church, Exeter, as part of a major refurbishment project have been donated to a charity which works with prisoners nearing release and those at risk of going to prison. The pews will be turned into chopping boards and other items. The vicar, Rev Matt Clayton, is quoted. The renovation project at the church is part of project backed by Strategic Development Funding, part of the Church of England’s programme of Renewal and Reform.
