Comment – Exit McGuinness, plaudits hiding the blood

It is an indicator of Northern Ireland’s curious trajectory that with the definitive retirement of Martin McGuinness, a former leader of the Provisional IRA, pundits are lamenting: “Who on earth are the Democratic Unionists [DUP] going to deal with now?”, writes Jenny McCartney in The Sunday Times. FAITH FOCUS – Come to the water

In this week’s gospel (Matthew 3:13 -17), John tells Jesus: I need to be baptised by you. Jesus replies: No, I need to be baptized by you. FAITH FOCUS – The Real 12 Days of Christmas

As things now stand sometime in November the "Christmas season" begins. The streets are hung with lights, the stores are decorated with red and green, and you can't turn on the radio without hearing songs about the spirit of the season and the glories of Santa Claus. The excitement builds to a climax on the morning of December 25, and then it stops, abruptly. Christmas is over, the New Year begins, and people go back to their normal lives. The traditional Christian celebration of Christmas is exactly the opposite. Click here - CNI -Faith docus 0201
