James 1:2-3 My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
Giving birth, whether to a dream or new life, is both a glorious and painful process. The one giving birth must almost always endure some pain and discomfort, and experience some stretching in order to accommodate new life. Pressing through the labor pains of the various trials of life strengthens our faith muscles and increases our endurance, helping us to grow stronger and stand firmer.
When God is making something new out of us or bringing forth something from inside of us, the labor pains and the struggle may seem too great for us to bear alone. Yet through every trial, God stands with us, coaching us, standing beside us to catch us, and caressing us as we push through the pain and new life pushes through us.
