Infertility is a heartbreaking condition that causes incredible pain and often the kind of stress that can destroy otherwise strong relationships. If you have ever struggled with infertility or are close to someone who has, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
If being a parent is something you’ve always wanted, infertility can shake you to your core and challenge your sense of self. While treatment results in beautiful babies for many people, some couples are never able to have the biological children they pray for.
But God is a God of surprises. If you feel a calling, whether to parenthood or something else, don’t abandon that calling. Persist. Keep in mind that God often calls us to serve in ways we least expect. When you feel unfulfilled, allow God to fill you up and comfort you—be surprised by the grace that is sent to mend your heart.
