National Council of Churches leaders express heartache at shootings in Sikh temple
NCC USA – Leaders of the National Council of Churches expressed shock Sunday at the “tragedy of violence” in Oak Creek, Wis., where a gunman opened fire in a Sikh temple, killing at least seven worshippers and injuring three others.

Cathedral could be restored at a price – bishop  
Radio NZ –  Bishop Victoria Matthews says the Anglican Church has always believed Christ Church Cathedral could be rebuilt, but the cost would be excessive. The Cathedral Project Group has been considering an alternative engineers’ report that says the ruins of the church are safe for workers to restore. But the group stands by its decision that it is simply too dangerous, and too expensive, to repair the huge stone building.

Nuclear disasters are lessons for the generations, says Japanese theologian  
ENI – A Japanese theologian whose grandfather survived the 6 August 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima has written that such nuclear disasters should remind people of their responsibilities to future generations.
