Ballyclare MVC and Rhos Male Voice Choir in concert

The Ballyclare Male Choir annual concert will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the Assembly Buildings of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, Fisherwick Place, Belfast (Spires Centre).
Special guests for the evening will be Rhos Male Voice Choir and Gillian McCutcheon, solo clarinet, and compere for the concert will be Alan Beattie.

Formed in 1891, the Rhos Male Voice Choir is from the village of Rhosllannerchrugog, near Wrexham, north Wales. It is widely recognised as being one of Wales’ foremost choirs and its stature in male choral circles is second to none.

This year the choir, under its conductor Aled Phillips, was awarded, not for the first time, the first prize at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. Over the years it has also won the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, twice won the BBC Radio Choir of the Year competition and has been the top choir at many other festivals held in both the UK and across Europe.

The Ballyclare men and conductor Phyllis Boyd will now be focusing their attention on preparing for this concert – the highlight event of what has been and continues to be a busy 78th choral season.

Tickets for the annual concert in February are priced £15 each and are available from any choir member or direct from David Hewett by telephoning 028 9084 1153.
