Jacques van Oortmerssen has agreed to give the improvisation masterclass in Dundalk on 21 June and Columba McCann, OSB, has agreed to provide the organ improvisations at Solemn Vespers in St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral on 24 June. On Thurs 23 in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, David Leigh plays Pott’s Christus

Dublin International Organ Competition

The competition forms the core of the festival. This year the quarterfinals take place in Crosshaven, Co. Cork and Dundalk, Co. Louth on two important organs: the new Henk van Eeken organ in Holy Trinity Church, Crosshaven and the wonderful Willis organ in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dundalk. The semi-finals and finals will take place as usual on the Jones/Flentrop organ of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin.

Sophie-Véronique Caucherfer-Choplin has had to withdraw from the competition jury for personal reasons. It has been agreed with David Higgs, jury chairperson, to continue with four jury members and that Mark Duley would sit with the jury for the finals and have a casting vote in the event of a tie.
