They may be riding high with the Christmas No. 1 spot in the Official UK Singles Chart, but it seems the Military Wives are already planning their next move – an album.
The news that the ladies, who came to fame via the BBC reality series The Choir, are to record a long player emerged after soloist Sam Stephenson confessed that she is keen to do one.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph she said: “We would love to do an album – that would be fantastic.”
And the paper confirmed from a source that an album was indeed in the pipeline.
The source said: “The single has been such an amazing success that an album is an obvious next step.
“The main difficulty will be getting all the women together to record it because their husbands’ jobs mean they move around a lot.”
The choir’s Wherever You Are sold a whopping 556,000 copies last week – the biggest total for a Christmas No. 1 since Alexandra Burke’s Hallelujah in 2008.
