Choirs on tour. Events this week in Dublin, Killarney, Kilkenny, and Castletownshend

The choir of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, directed by Stuart Nicholson, is completing a short tour in England where they will sing services in both St Philip’s Cathedral, Birmingham, and the Cathedral of St Peter and the Holy and Indivisible Trinity, Gloucester.

The choir of All Saints Church, Carshalton, Surrey, directed by Daniel Battle, visited St Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick, and sang at the morning Eucharist and Evensong on Sunday past.

On Monday the Grampian Concert Orchestra gave a lunchtime recital in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, and tomorrow, Wednesday evening, the Cologne Philarmonic will give a concert in St Mary’s Church, Killarney.

The St Barrahane’s Church Festival of Music continues in Castletownshend, Co. Cork, on Thursday evening with a concert of traditional music by The Listeners.

On Friday, as part of the well-established Kilkenny Arts Week,  there will be a lunchtime recital in St Canice’s Cathedral by the Venetian pianist, Alessandro Taverna, and an evening concert of piano duets by Rebecca and Kirsten Capova.
