New Youth Officer for R of I

Jude Trenier has been appointed as the new Youth Ministry Development Officer (Republic of Ireland).

Jude is originally from Greystones, Co Wicklow and was most recently the Executive Director of FACE Youth, London for 4 years – a company working with young people in/on the fringes of mainstream education who have Emotional, Behavioural, Social Difficulties. Before leaving Ireland in 2006 to pursue study at Regent Theological College, (Vancouver, Canada) she spent 10 years in full time ministry in Ireland where she was also the director of Authentic Youth (Scripture Union) for 6.5 years.

Her experience in youth work and ministry has been varied but includes detached street work in Belfast, radio broadcasting in Asia, drugs and relationships education, extensive schools and youth work, initiating, writing, developing and delivering issue based programmes and resources for young people, charity development, writing theological study material, training youth leaders and as a regular speaker in a variety of contexts including Spring Harvest, Emerge and Youthworks the Conference in the UK. She is a frequent contributor to newspapers and radio programmes in Ireland.

Jude will take up her new position with the Youth Department on 1st February 2012.
