One of the major difficulties of the proverbial ‘man/woman in the pew” - as well as not a few priests and bishops, is the lack of readily accessible and understandable information about what actually is happening throughout the Anglican Communion, and it seems that getting unbiased sources is a bit like the quest for the Holy Grail - time consuming and elusive.

However, in light of the fact that Dean Robert McCarthy now has published correspondence received over recent public criticism of his ministry and vision for St Patrick’s Cathedral, this opinion piece which was written early last week and consciously withheld, is now being published.
Next Sunday 6 November at 7pm, a quiet and reflective Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance for Loved Ones will be held in St Paul’s Church Glenageary Dublin at 7.00 pm. Music includes extracts from Faure’s Requiem, Rutter’s A Clare Benediction and Sibelius Be still my Soul as well as hymns for all to sing.
