An inspiration day for young organists and pianists on Saturday 19th March
This day organised by the Royal College of Organists is for young people aged between 9 and 19: organists of all standards and pianists who would like to try playing the organ. Adult organists, following a reduced programme, will be welcome too (all standards), to play or observe.
The event offers:
• friendly tuition in small graded groups – hands on!
• an opportunity to play the superb 4-manual organs in St Anne’s and St Peter’s Cathedrals, and at St Patrick’s Church
• the opportunity to attend a Lunchtime recital in St Anne’s Cathedral at 1.30pm by virtuoso David Adams who will present a popular programme
• an opportunity to perform in an Informal Student Concert
The day will begin at 9.45am and end at about 6pm. Admission to the lunchtime recital is included for all attending the day. Members of the public also most welcome at the Recital (retiring collection) on Saturday 19 March 2011 in Belfast

EMMA GIBBINS dynamic young Director of Music at St George’s Belfast – formerly organ scholar at Pembroke Cambridge, St Martin-in- the-Fields and Southwell Minster
NIGEL McCLINTOCK founder- director of the celebrated Schola Cantorum at St Peter’s Cathedral, and of the CWSS Boys’ Choir
JAMES PARSONS Head of Student Development for the RCO, and formerly founder-director of Oundle for Organists – recitalist, teacher and a key mover and shaker in the organ world!
